The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring Northumberland - the mystical holy island of Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle, The Farne Islands and the Scottish Borders are within easy reach. Northumberland has some of the most unspoilt and under populated landscape in England - where mountains, sandy beaches and hidden coves are all within a short drive.
There are beautiful walks from the doorstep of the cottage - with an abundance of marked routes including Linhope Spout and Routin Linn, or a walk in the Cheviot Hills where you'll hardly see another soul.
St Cuthbert's Way also passes close to the cottages.
If two wheels is more your thing, the Pennine Cycleway goes by the cottage, making this the ideal cottage for a pit stop. Bike hire is available locally, and can be arranged by the owners.
The area boasts some fantastic marine wildlife - the Farne Islands, off the coast of Seahouses, make ideal diving for all levels - tuition is available. This is the ideal cottage from which to escape into the wilderness - if you're looking for a holiday cottage for a large group on a special occasion why not rent 2 or 3 cottages togethe
