Straight from the door you can walk to Stockghyll Falls and Wansfell, or a short drive brings you to Great Langdale and Little Langdale, some of the most popular starting points for serious fell walkers. You couldn’t be closer to the action as just across the road you can board the Windermere steamers to Bowness-on-Windermere and Lakeside at the Southern end of Lake Windermere where you can pick up the Lakeside to Haverthwaite Steam Railway.
