A 17th century cottage nestling in the foothills of the Skiddaw range.

Ground Floor:
Property has oil central heating and comprises:
Lounge/diner/kitchen: Open plan beamed room with Lakeland stone fireplace, cosy coal fire, electric fire and TV/DVD.   Kitchen/dining area: with electric cooker, microwave and fridge overlooking the rear garden where you can see a variety of visiting wildlife, red squirrels and woodpeckers are common visitors.

First Floor:
Bedroom 1: with double bed, exposed oak beams and traditional pine furniture.
Bedroom 2: with twin beds, exposed oak beams and traditional pine furniture.
Bathroom: With bath, over the bath electric shower, hand basin and WC.

All electric, bed linen and towels included. An initial supply of coal is provided. Cot available.  Free wireless internet facility now available.

Outhouse for storing bikes. Private parking available. Visit England 3 Star.

Set in 10 acres of gardens and meadows on the foothills of the Skiddaw range, Garries Cottage is adjoining the owner’s 17th Century home, in a quiet and tranquil area above Bassenthwaite village. From this elevated position you can see Bassenthwaite Lake with panoramic views of the surrounding fells and over to the West, some spectacular sunsets. Many grades of walking direct from the door, from gentle woodland and meadow walks to the more strenuous heights of Skiddaw. An area of occasional farms nestling into the fells reached by meandering lanes and far from the madding crowds, but within easy reach of Keswick and Cockermouth and the popular northern fells and lakes.
