Extra Amenities

Refurbished in 2017, this terraced holiday cottage offers a very good quality finish and exceptional levels of comfort throughout. The cottage gets its name from the stream which runs just behind the property, a great spot for feeding the local ducks. The ground floor offers a cosy country feel but with contemporary living at the heart of the interior design. The living room boasts a large fireplace with a wood burner, perfect for those cosy nights by the fire. The open plan kitchen and dining area provides a social hub for a late night glass of wine, a hearty meal or the most competitive of board games! The range and quality of kitchen appliances are excellent and you can be sure to find everything you need for a memorable stay. Riverholme boasts two good sized bedrooms with excellent interior design, plenty of storage and very comfortable beds for a restful sleep. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and an en-suite shower room, and the second bedroom offers twin beds. The main family bathroom features a freestanding roll-top bath, shower cubicle and an excellent level of free space and accessories.

All of this makes the cottage very popular with families and couples. At the rear of the property you’ll find a small lawn and terrace complete with garden furniture for soaking up the sun. Its west facing aspect makes it the perfect afternoon sun trap so you can grab a beer and listen to your troubles drift away with the sound of running water.

Whether you are looking for an adventure or a peaceful and relaxing retreat, this couldn’t be a better starting point. Its quiet village location means that you can escape your busy lifestyle and retreat to the countryside in no time. You are just 350 yards from the village pub serving a range of local cask ales and great food. Whether you like walking, hiking or cycling, you are never too far away from your next adventure. You have good access to plenty of walking and cycle routes nearby, as well as more challenging fells including Skiddaw, Catbells, Latrigg and Blencathra to name a few.

Just 2 miles away you’ll find the Lake District Wildlife Park with over 100 species of wild animals, great fun for all the family. Also nearby is the Lakes Distillery offering tasting tours and producers of fine whisky, gin and vodka, always a hit with the adults.
Derwent Water and the popular town of Keswick, 7 miles, has an abundance of dining and shopping experiences as well as a mix of cultural hotspots and tourist attractions. The Pencil Museum is a must and is home to the world’s largest pencil. The Theatre by the Lake offers award-winning arts and drama on the shores of Derwent Water, and the mind-boggling world of the Puzzling Place is fun for all ages and based on optical illusions.
