The Hen House at The Old Parsonage can be found nestled in the Cheshire village of Cotebrook, in a private and secluded spot, within the grounds of the friendly owners’ home. Beautifully renovated in 2019, the cottage is perfect for those looking for a countryside retreat, but with the convenience of the large, pretty village of Tarporley, just 2 miles down the road. Cotebrook itself is home to two good pubs serving food, as well as Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre, which set in a 50-acre country park and a mere 5-minute walk from the property.
An award-winning, family-run farm shop and restaurant is a 5-minute drive, as is Tarporley, where you’ll find an array of characterful pubs and restaurants, and is known as something of a shoppers’ haven.
The Hen House at The Old Parsonage makes an ideal base for those attending weddings at Nunsmere Hall, or for those looking for something more daring, Oulton Park Circuit is also just a 5-minute drive.
Delamere Forest, and the castles of Beeston, Cholmondeley, Bolesworth and Peckforton can all be reached in around 20 minutes, as can the medieval, yet modern, market town of Nantwich. Outdoor enthusiasts can pick up the famous Sandstone Trail locally, and for history buffs, the historic Roman city of Chester is just a 30-minute drive, and is home to a whole host of attractions including a zoo, racecourse and a designer shopping outlet.
