This cosy cottage in the village of Santon, near Holmrook, is an ideal escape from your busy day to day life.

Set in a picturesque village but with easy access to nearby shops, pubs, town, lakes and fells, including the shortest route up Scafell Pike, you’re spoilt for choice. Perfect for a couple and families, this quaint cottage is very well equipped, the owners have a great eye for detail and guest experience is high on the list of priorities.

Split over three floors, you have everything you need for a relaxing stay. On the second floor you’ll find a twin bedroom with Velux windows and beams that add character. Please note that access is via a steep staircase with a low ceiling. On the first floor you’ll find the master bedroom with double bed, plenty of storage and pleasant views.

The bathroom features a shower over the bath, and there’s also a quiet snug with electric fire and easy seating, perfect for reading and relaxing.
On the ground floor is the main living room with plush furnishings, open fire, easy seating and Smart TV, ideal for a cosy night in by the fire after a day of adventure. This leads to the kitchen/dining room. Outside, youll find the secluded rear garden, boasting uninterrupted views across open fields to Great Gable & the Wasdale valley.
Santon is set in the Western Lake District, between Gosforth and Eskdale, arguably one of the most unspoilt areas of the National Park withseveral small villages, towns and hamlets nearby, most with pubs, café’s, shops and excellent amenities.

Santon bridge, 1 mile away, has a pub, gift shop and tearoom. Gosforth, 2 miles away, has a couple of good pubs serving food and local ales, an excellent convenience shop and deli, and a coffee shop/café. Nearby you’ll find several great days out and tourist attractions including Muncaster Castle, fun for all the family, or ride the La’al Ratty on The Ravenglass and Eskdale railway. And of course, there are great walks to be had around lakes, fells and a beach and sand dunes at nearby Drigg, 5 miles away. It’s perfect for walking, cycling, sightseeing, and exploring and Roses Cottage is a great place to start.
