This delightful apartment, on the slopes of Rydal Fell, has beautiful views of Grasmere and the fells beyond from its large, secluded grounds.

Living/dining room: With feature fireplace, Smart TV, Blu-ray/DVD player, sound system, double sofa bed (for flexible sleeping arrangements) and beams.
Kitchen: With breakfast bar, combi oven/grill, induction hob, microwave, fridge, wine cooler, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine and Smart TV.
Bedroom: With kingsize bed, Smart TV and DVD player.
Bathroom: With free standing roll-top bath, shower cubicle and toilet.
Electric storage heaters (October-April), electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer (shared with other properties on-site).
3-acre grounds with woodland, terrace and sitting-out area (shared with other properties on-site). Private parking, allocated for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: There is a small, unfenced pond and small stream in the grounds.
Wonderfully located on the slopes of Rydal Fell, and approximately ¾ mile from the centre of Grasmere village, The Old Coach House is a comfortable and traditionally furnished apartment. Set within Wood Close, a large Victorian, stone-built country house which is divided into several independent properties, The Old Coach House has been refurbished to a high standard and offers many modern amenities and facilities while retaining its traditional character and charm.
The spacious living/dining room looks out over the gardens from the panoramic windows, and is furnished with a sofa, easy chairs and farmhouse dining table and chairs. There is a large-screen Smart TV, comprehensive sound system and a wide selection of local books, information guides, walking maps and board games. The modern kitchen has garden views and is well-equipped with a multi-function oven/grill, induction hob, wine cooler, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, TV and breakfast bar. The bedroom also overlooks the garden and has a kingsize bed with 100% cotton bed linen, an antique wardrobe, a wash basin and a Smart TV.
The bathroom is equipped with a roll-top bath, electric shower, toilet and washbasin. The heating is thermostatically controlled heaters.
Within Wood Close, there is a laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, shared with the other apartments, with an honesty box to cover costs.
Wood Close has 3 acres of grounds, comprising of woodland, gardens, a panoramic terrace and sitting out area, all of which can be used by our guests, and which are also shared with the other apartments in the house. From the terrace, there are dramatic views of Grasmere lake and Loughrigg Fell. There is a small, unfenced pond and stream in the grounds, which is home to red squirrels and many species of birds, and where wild deer are also occasional visitors. Each apartment has its own allocated parking space, with private parking for 1 car specifically for visitors to The Old Coach House.
This homely holiday apartment retains all of its traditional charm for a peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable holiday in the heart of the Lake District.
It is an excellent base for walking, with easy access to the fells, Alcock Tarn, and the famous ‘Coffin Route’ directly from the garden. There is a gentle downhill walk to Grasmere village (passing William Wordsworth’s home at Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Grasmere centre on the way), and from there are easy routes to both the lower and upper slopes of the village’s surrounding fells. In the village, you will find an attractive selection of bars and restaurants, and a wide variety of shops, including a small supermarket, post office, newsagent, chemist, baker, outdoor equipment retailers, gift and art shops, a garden centre and the famous Grasmere gingerbread shop. The graves of the poet William Wordsworth and his family are situated in St. Oswald’s parish churchyard. Ambleside, 4 miles, and Keswick, 13 miles, offer a range of further shops, attractions and amenities, and there are several historic houses and gardens locally. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile
