A small car ferry can be caught from the nearby terminal taking you to Bowness-on-Windermere where there is a fantastic range of shops, pubs, restaurants and attractions such as The World of Beatrix Potter. The Coniston Fells offer up some of the finest walks in Lakeland from the high tops of ’The Old Man’ to lower level walks around the old slate quarries in Tilberthwaite. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 150 yards.
