This quality mews style property on the fringe of the Auld Grey town of Kendal is reputed to have once stabled the race horse Red Rum, and having undergone a major transformation from its former equestrian life, is now a champion in self catering terms! Kendal, a medieval market town with cobbled streets and riverside walks and is a super base from where to explore Kirkby Lonsdale and the Dales as well as the Lake District, both being within a 15-minute drive. The Old Woodyard also benefits from easy access to the surrounding fells (5-minute walk) and 10 minutes walk to the town centre. The property offers superb facilities for couples or small families, the open plan living accommodation offering a rather social atmosphere, perfect for relaxing evenings round the dining table or in front of the fireplace. Exposed beams serve as a reminder to the age of this old building but also add character. The enclosed patio area is just the spot for an aperitif before dinner in one of the many great restaurants that Kendal has to offer. Beach 14 miles. Shop 220 yards, pub 330 yards and restaurant 400 yards.
