As you step in through the front door, the open plan living area has comfortable seating, with windows looking out over Derwentwater and the surrounding fells. Should you want a cosy night in, it is perfect to grab some popcorn, a glass of wine and watch a movie together on the Smart TV with Netflix.

Should you choose to eat in, the dishwasher will make sure none of your holiday is spent at the kitchen sink. The double sized bedroom, with sumptuous duvet and pillows, will give you a good night’s rest after your days out, and it also has an en-suite bathroom to revive and refresh you at the start of each day.

Harney Peak was a former Lakeland hotel, and is set in the peaceful and pretty village of Portinscale.

Further along, you can catch the Keswick Launch from Nichol End, a beautiful way to see the surrounding fells from the lake. Cat Bells is a popular fell, worth an evening stroll for a quieter way to enjoy the views, or continue along the lake shore path to Brandlehow Park. Beach 20 miles.
