Caxton Nook is a self-contained, ground floor apartment which has its own access and dedicated parking space, a real bonus in Windermere! The apartment was refurbished summer 2020. Warmed throughout by gas central heating and with a cosy open fire in the living room, it is the perfect place to relax after a day’s walking or sightseeing. In addition to the spacious living room, which is equipped with a Freeview TV, DVD player, books and games, there is also a separate kitchen/dining area, two comfortable bedrooms and family bathroom.

Windermere town centre is less than a 2 minute walk and here you will find a lovely selection of individual boutique style shops as well as some high street favourites, supermarkets, galleries, cafés, restaurants, pubs and takeaways. Bowness-on-Windermere is just 1 mile away and again you will find a great variety of shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants. There is also a traditional cinema and the World of Beatrix Potter Attractions which draws in visitors from all over the world.

You can also take a ferry boat or steamer across the lake. The popular visitor centre at Brockholes is just a 5-minute drive away, as is Fell Foot Park with lake cruises across to Lakeside where you can visit the Aquarium or take a ride on the steam railway. For those wanting to leave their car at home, Caxton Nook is just a few minutes’ walk from Windermere train station. With so much to see and do you will definitely need to visit more than once!
