This luxurious early 18th century cottage, formerly part of the historic Stott Park Bobbin Mill, has been transformed from a former lodging house for mill worker families into a period country hideaway. This recently renovated self-catering cottage is wonderful for couples or families as it is ideally located within the heart of the Central Lakes and Windermere is only 7 miles away. The nearby village of Lakeside is host to four of the top visitor attractions in the Lake District. The world is your oyster from Woodside as endless country walks beckon and bicycles can be hired nearby.

High Dam, one of the top ten secluded walks in the country is only a half mile away as is Stott Park Heights. For those who prefer their walks to involve a scorecard and clubs, Windermere Golf Club is just 7 miles away and offers a challenging course with spectacular scenery.

It has been referred to as a “miniature Gleneagles” by the golfing press.

The Windermere Lake steamers call in at the village of Lakeside and take passengers out on the water to soak up the atmosphere in style. The Lakeside to Haverthwaite Railway offers families an opportunity to slow down and enjoy steam travel of a different sort enjoying the views from the carriage windows.
The Aquarium of the Lakes is a firm favourite with families. Open all year, enjoy the day as a family with food, fun and facts about the Lakes. You can stroll leisurely to Fell Foot Park as it is less than a mile away. Picnic on the lawn or on the boathouse patio or, if you are feeling inquisitive, hire a rowing boat and explore the lakeshore from the water. There are lovely grounds and the children can go wild in the adventure playground.

Perhaps you would prefer to see the fells from horseback? Then your wish can easily be fulfilled with pony trekking only 3 miles away.
