Margate is hip and cool, with the artists making their mark all across Thanet, but especially in Margate. This can be seen in the old town with its boutique shops, cafés, ale bars, restaurants and pubs.
Of course, the long stretch of golden sandy beach is what people really love Margate for, together with the surrounding towns of Westgate, Birchington, Broadstairs and Ramsgate with Canterbury, Whitstable and Sandwich just a little further out.
