Stay in Brockenhurst when you visit The New Forest
As one of the largest villages in the area, there are superb local amenities for shoppers and epicureans alike. It’s a great area for both walking and cycling. There is a meeting of the streams in the town providing the famous ‘Splash’ ford that flows across the road, as well as place for swimming on the Lymington River called “Brockenhurst Beach”. Rhinefield Road is especially pretty for the camera-laden visitor. Popular visitor cycling pastimes including New Forest cycling, the Brockenhurst to Rhinefield Aboretum ride to see the huge giant redwoods and, for the more experienced, the Calshot “Track and Back”, a 40-mile round trip which includes cycling around the Calshot Velodrome. Seven miles to the east is the famous Beaulieu National Motor Museum, and should you decide on Brockenhurst as your holiday cottage base during the summer, do try and catch the spectacular Annual New Forest Show.
