English country holiday cottages to rent

Self-catering holiday cottages in Brockenhurst

Brockenhurst, with a history stretching back to the Bronze Age, has an accolade few villages down the years can boast of – being named the most beautiful place to live in the UK. It is situated within the New Forest National Park (actually within the Heritage Area) which is Europe’s largest remaining area of ancient pasture woodland. Be prepared to see wild horses, ponies, deer, cows and even pigs – in fact almost a mobile farmyard - roaming around when you visit! Not many people associate the New Forest with a coastline but Brockenhurst to Milford on sea is only eight miles away!

All the self-catering amenities that you could wish - perfect retreats for larger groups of family and friends, and small characterful cottages for couples. Facilities boasting king-size beds, cotton sheets, swimming pools, prime central locations, rustic or contemporary living. For foodies, cyclists, walkers and adventurers, you will find a special base to explore the New Forest and enjoy a relaxing break.

Stay in Brockenhurst when you visit The New Forest

As one of the largest villages in the area, there are superb local amenities for shoppers and epicureans alike. It’s a great area for both walking and cycling. There is a meeting of the streams in the town providing the famous ‘Splash’ ford that flows across the road, as well as place for swimming on the Lymington River called “Brockenhurst Beach”. Rhinefield Road is especially pretty for the camera-laden visitor. Popular visitor cycling pastimes including New Forest cycling, the Brockenhurst to Rhinefield Aboretum ride to see the huge giant redwoods and, for the more experienced, the Calshot “Track and Back”, a 40-mile round trip which includes cycling around the Calshot Velodrome. Seven miles to the east is the famous Beaulieu National Motor Museum, and should you decide on Brockenhurst as your holiday cottage base during the summer, do try and catch the spectacular Annual New Forest Show.
