English country holiday cottages to rent

Self-catering holiday cottages close to East Meon in Hampshire

The rather pretty village of East Meon sits above the South Downs National Park and is said to date back to about 500 AD, although there are Bronze Age burial mounds in the immediate area dating back to around 2,000 BC. The local river, the Meon, has its source form a spring approximately a mile outside the village and runs alongside the village street, making a pleasant exploration walk. For a longer meander, the South Downs Way footpath (a long distance one) passes near the village. Whichever direction you take you can be assured of a most wonderful, invigorating rural walk that will soon make you forget about the hustle and bustle of daily life, and you will find a warm welcome.

Wonderful stylish contemporary self-catering accommodation, alongside rural traditional English country cottages and spacious large holiday house that can accommodate big groups of guests in the Meon Valley - (about 96 km southwest of London, close to Petersfield and about 30 km north of Portsmouth) can be filtered by number of bedrooms, number of guests, Tourist board ratings, and features including hot tubs, pets allowed etc..
