The thriving Georgian market town of Lymington is also 6 miles away and offers an extensive range of shopping facilities, Saturday market and excellent amenities for yachtsmen, including two marinas. What better way to enjoy an afternoon exploring the boutiques and ice cream parlours lining the cobbled streets, or enjoying lunch overlooking the waterside.
The ferry to the Isle of Wight can also be taken from here, and makes a lovely day trip for the family. There are many glorious sandy beaches with various watersports within easy reach, including Sandbanks and Bournemouth. The nearest beaches at Milford on Sea, Keyhaven and Milton are just a short drive. The historic Priory town of Christchurch with Avon beach is just half an hour away.
