This spacious detached cottage, with fine views across the English Channel, is able to comfortably accommodate up to six guests and is dog-friendly. It is situated within the village of Niton Undercliff on the southern tip of the Isle of Wight.
The area is a firm favourite with cyclists, walkers and ramblers, with an ever-changing coastal landscape boasting breathtaking panoramic views and a wealth of wildlife. Nearby you will find St. Catherine’s Lighthouse and you can explore the area where Marconi made some of his early experiments in radio. Visit Castle Cove (also known as Castlehaven or Reeth Bay), where there is a little open-air beach café (seasonal opening). Reeth Bay beach can be reached by traversing across pebbles, boulders and rocks, and is accessible in the spring and summer months around low tide, great for rock pooling.
All of these are within walking distance.
A short stroll from the property is another famous and popular landmark, The Buddle Inn, a 16th-century cliff top pub and restaurant noted for its real ales and extensive menu including homemade specialities. The main village of Niton is just over ½ mile away, where there is a general store, post office, chemist, library and doctors.
The popular seaside resort of Ventnor is just a short drive away offering a number of lovely seaside tea shops, pubs and restaurants dotted along the Esplanade. There are also some quirky and bespoke shops, an award-winning park and a children’s paddling pool.
The town, which for the most part is built on the steep hill leading to the beach, retains its original seaside charm and makes a great day out for all the family.
Outdoor pursuits on the island are well catered for and include horse riding, fishing, cycling, paragliding, water sports and golf. There are numerous attractions to discover for all ages, pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens, Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, the famous Needles, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes. There is plenty to discover and keep you entertained. Beach 1 mile. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 360 yards
