A short walk up the lane toward Mearns, puts you on the path to the nearby pretty village of Timsbury, and takes in great views of the rolling countryside. The Greyfield Colliery has left its name to Greyfield’s Wood, a beautiful and well-cared for Woodland Trust site that conceals a secret waterfall. Also within easy reach is the cathedral town of Wells, atmospheric Glastonbury, the geological wonders of Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge, the beauties of the Chew Valley and the Mendip Hills, plus a host of English villages such as Chew Magna, Pensford, Timsbury and Bishop Sutton.
