Situated in an enviable position on the banks of the Torridge Estuary, the decked roof terrace and the private balcony both give unrivalled viewing platforms that perfectly capture the constantly changing coastal scene towards the pretty village of Instow and beyond. It provides the perfect location for both sunbathing and boat watching as well as being an excellent setting for al fresco dining on the terrace. Its close proximity to the water means crabbing is possible whilst sitting on the edge of the balcony during high tide, which is also great for children and adults! Shorewaters Cottage has been sympathetically renovated for holiday lettings and offers stylish living accommodation in neutral, contemporary tones. It can comfortably sleep six people and benefits from two double bedrooms, both with river views, a third bedroom with bunk bed and a spacious open plan living/kitchen and dining area.
There is also a bathroom with a shower over bath and an additionalfirst floor wet room.
Positioned on a quiet backwater street, Shorewaters is located within easy walking distance of Appledore’s bustling quay and quaint village which hosts a wide range of cafés, public houses and boutique shops. From the quay you can take either the ferry across the river or enjoy the short drive to Instow which offers a quiet inlet and a dog friendly sandy beach along with a selection of pubs and restaurants specialising in locally caught seafood. The historic port town of Bideford is just two miles away, as is the sandy beach of Westward Ho!, which is popular with surfers, windsurfers and beach lovers alike.
Alternative popular beaches including Croyde, Woolacombe and Combe Martin which are also still within a short drive from the cottage. There are plenty of local attractions and amenities nearby including Northam golf course, horse riding stables, an indoor swimming pool, fishing, sailing and water skiing facilities. Other family attractions include the Big Sheep and Milky Way theme parks, Dartington Crystal Factory, Tapeley Park, the Tarka Trail, which is popular with walkers and cyclists, and the Atlantic village shopping centre.
