It’s no secret that lovely things come in small packages, and Hidden Gem is no exception. This delightful, detached property is a real treasure. From the huge picture window in the living area to the three perfectly formed en-suite bedrooms, the attention to detail will ensure that you have a comfortable holiday as well as a memorable one. The accommodation is very flexible - bedroom 1 has a sliding door into the living area so an additional living area can be created when it is not being used as a bedroom. Located on the hill above the pretty village of Berrynarbor, which was awarded ’Best Kept Village 2010’, Hidden Gem’s quiet setting makes it ideal for those seeking some peace and quiet.
However, the property is also ideally located for you to experience all that this stunning part of Devon has to offer.
Berrynarbor has a busy local shop and pub, both within walking distance, although the road from the village back to the cottage is quite steep. In Ilfracombe there are the Tunnel Beaches and the bustling harbour area guarded by Damien Hirst’s sculpture ‘Verity’. There is also a good range of shops, restaurants and other amenities. Nearby are Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, and Watermouth Castle. A day trip out to Lynton and Lynmouth is also recommended.
With its Victorian history and cliff railway set against the backdrop of the Countisbury Cliffs, it is a very pretty area. At Croyde and Woolacombe you will find some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country, as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor is a short distance away, and on a clear day, the views can be spectacular. There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knightshayes, as well as RHS gardens at Rosemoor, Great Torrington. Cycling on the Tarka Trail, golf, horse riding and fishing are all available locally. Beach 2 miles. Shop 750 yards, pub 650 yards and restaurant 3 miles.
Can't make your mind up - city pied-a-terre or seaside beach house? South West England is a bucket list choice to visit. There is plenty of dog friendly holidays in North Coast Cornwall, South Coast Cornwall or Truro and Falmouth - some have private tennis courts.
