Plenty of choice when it comes to food and drink not to forget the homemade ice-cream, Falmouth is the nearest town it has a large harbour where you will often see large cruise ships anchored off.
Here you will find plenty to do from walking around the ancient Pendennis Castle and Point, to looking at the Maritime Museum, popping into the local shops or just sitting down people watching.
Helston is 20 minutes away a market town known for its furry Dance, there are plenty of walks why not go from Porthleven to Helston via Loe Bar! You will be spoilt for choice if you like horticulture visit Glendurgan, Trebah or the lost Gardens of Heligan.
Why not drive to the famous Eden project it is an hour away and is ideal if the weather is not great as you will spend the majority of your time in the giant biomes.
