Welcome to Castle Cottage, so named as it lies on the site of Lanihorne Castle. It is set in beautiful, secluded countryside in St Just, Roseland Area of Outstanding Beauty, where the weather is mild all year round allowing Mediterranean plants to flourish. This is a retreat for those who want to connect with nature, passing stunning countryside as you follow the lane along the estuary to the row of cottages.
This lovey three-bedroom cottage sleeping six guests is a fantastic base for families and couples who want to explore the area. It has private parking for three cars and an enclosed patio at the rear. When you enter the cottage you will notice the lovely original features. The cosy living room has comfortable sofas and a wood burner, ideal for those chilly evenings. The spacious kitchen/dining room is very light and airy and well equipped with everything you would need whilst you are away from home.

The stable door opens out onto a patio, ideal for your morning coffee, or for al fresco dining.
For those who are interested in walking, cycling or nature, this is the place to come. The estuary is a couple of minutes away, home to an abundance of wildlife. There are plenty of routes to follow via cycle or foot across miles of woodland and marshland. Local fishing villages such as Portscatho, Gerrans and Tregony are well worth a visit with their picturesque harbours, pretty cottages and stunning views. Why not spend a day exploring one or all of them.
St Mawes is probably the most popular with visitors. Bursting with heritage and charm, it attracts water sports lovers as well as walkers and nature lovers.

St Mawes Castle, one of the best-preserved coastal artillery fortresses of Henry VIII, offers stunning views from the top of the castle keep. Inside you will get a sample of daily life at the castle. There is an abundance of choice when it comes to eating here from a café to a gourmet meal, and as you would expect, an abundance of seafood as well as traditional dishes. A great way to enjoy the views is to take a ferry ride. Catch the King Harry ferry or the foot ferry to Falmouth, or take a boat trip from the harbour. You can also hire a boat if you want to explore on your own. Whatever you do, it is lovely to come back to Castle Cottage and relax whilst you plan the next day’s adventure.
