Nestled into the hillside in the tiny hamlet of Dalby, within the Howardian Hills, an Area of Natural Beauty, and close to the pretty market towns of Helmsley and Malton is Dalby Hall. This stunning property was designed by the renowned architects George Pace and Ronald Sims, who specialised in ecclesiastical work.
This architectural delight has been designed to showcase the stunning views on offer from each room. Dalby Hall is the perfect place for a large family or group of friends to come together and enjoy this beautiful part of North Yorkshire.
Dalby Hall is built using the original stone from a Jacobean mansion which originally occupied this site, however, when you step inside, the ecclesiastical splendour and grand design associated with the 1970’s is there to be seen. Walk through the wood panelled vestibule into the magnificent hall. Take a while to stand and enjoy the stunning views through the floor to ceiling windows. With feature brick walls on all sides, a wraparound staircase leading to the ground floor and adesigner chandelier, this room is simply stunning.

Corridors lead off from both sides to a selection of bedrooms. To one side you will find two twins, a double and a house bathroom and to the other side the master bedroom with a zip and link super kingsize bed and a further twin room. There are windows of all shapes and sizes to maximise the views from each room. With deep filled mattresses and beautiful soft furnishings, these rooms will guarantee a great night’s sleep. A second house shower room completes the accommodation on this floor.
Walk down the grand staircase into the open plan dining room with a table and chairs seating ten, which is perfectly placed to enjoy the views. During the summer months be sure to take advantage of the sheltered garden where you can enjoy a glass or two of fizz or an al fresco evening meal and watch the sun go down. The lawns include what used to be, until recent years, a grass tennis court. A few yards from the gate, to the north there are stunning views to the Yorkshire Moors and some of the most scenic walks in the north Riding of Yorkshire are on your doorstep.

Dalby Hall also has a large, partially walled fruit and vegetable garden from which visitors are welcome to pick anything in season including raspberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants, gooseberries and blackberries. There are also plum and apple trees which produce fruit in abundance in late summer and autumn, the garden overlooks the Howardian Hills and eastwards to the Yorkshire Wolds, bordering miles of open fields. The location of the property means you are just a mile or so from the amenities of the pretty villages of Terrington and Sheriff Hutton, whilst the historic City of York is just a short drive away.
Keen cyclists and walkers will enjoy exploring the country lanes of the Howardian Hills, and a day at Castle Howard, home to Brideshead revisited is an absolute must. With easy access to the North York Moors National Park and the coastal towns of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey, Dalby Hall really is the perfect place for a getaway to remember at any time of yea
