South Cave offers a charming selection of amenities with several shops, two pubs, a restaurant and a country house hotel with health spa and golf club.

The surrounding area of the Yorkshire Wolds inspired the famous David Hockney paintings, and walkers and cyclists can enjoy the gentle undulating hills and stunning scenery. Local attractions include the South Cave Falconry with its collection of owls and birds of prey, and North Cave Wetlands, a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Reserve. Visit the delightful market town of Beverley and the beautiful minster, historical buildings and cobbled streets, bordered by pavement cafés and fine dining restaurants. Beverley hosts spectacular music festivals and numerous farmers’ markets, and horse racing at the Westwood racecourse.

Hull, City of Culture 2017, is the home city of poet Philip Larkin and birthplace of William Wilberforce. Places of interest include The Deep, a huge aquarium housing over 3,500 fish, the Ferens art gallery, the Maritime Museum and Hull Truck Theatre. Miles of sandy beaches can be found at Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough, and the historic walled city of York is within an hour’s drive. Shop 350 yards, pub ¾ mile, restaurant 330 yards.
