Situated on the end of a small terrace in a very quiet area of Flamborough, Jay’s Cottage is a spacious two bedroom property perfect for a family holiday.
Located between Filey and Bridlington, Flamborough is a small fishing village renowned for its rugged white cliffs and spectacular wildlife. The village centre has a couple of pubs that serve food, a fish and chip shop and a few independent shops.
For those who love the great outdoors, it’s the place to stay with wonderful walks along the clifftops, and you will find Danes Dyke nature reserve, which is a Bronze-Age dyke with wonderful nature and fauna, just along the lane.
There’s also some great bird watching along this coastline with the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs close by, where you can see puffins and lots of other migrating seabirds.
Yorkshire is famous for its stately homes and one of the finest is just a 5 minute drive from the cottage. Sewerby Hall is a beautiful Edwardian house that has been restored to its former glory. The gardens are well worth a visit as well as the zoo to keep your children entertained.
There is also Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere House and the prestigious Castle Howard all within driving distance. The beach at North Landing has lots of smugglers caves, just waiting for the children to explore, as well as a very good beach.
The larger resorts of Bridlington and Scarborough are nearby, where you you find leisure centres, waterparks, theatres and an abundance of restaurants and bars. This cottage is a great base to visit the East Coast, the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 750 yards
