Centrally located in the old fishing village of Flamborough, this end of terrace town house is central for all amenities with a shop, pub, bakery and fish and chip shop just around the corner. Sea Thistle Cottage has an enclosed courtyard to the rear of the property and a small enclosed area to the front with it’s own parking space. Flamborough’s North Landing is famous for its smugglers caves and the walk between the North and South Landing is absolutely stunning. In fact for those of you who like the great outdoors there’s no better place than Flamborough for clifftop walks, bird watching and rock pooling. Walk along the clifftops to Bempton Cliffs where you will find one of the largest seabird colonies in the UK.
On the white chalk cliffs you’ll see puffins, guillemots and kittiwakes as well as the seals down on the lower rocks. Flamborough is just north of Bridlington and between the two resorts you’ll find Danes Dyke, a local nature reserve. There are lots of woodland trails to follow and the children will enjoy the adventure of it all. Just along the coast from Danes Dyke you’ll find Sewerby Hall and its small zoo. The beautiful Georgian property is set in over 50 acres of beautiful parkland that overlooks the sea. You can easily spend a whole day at the hall with a tour of the grand house and then a wander around the gardens and zoo.
There are lots of picnic areas with wonderful views out to sea. The children enjoy the zoo and the adults enjoy the magnificent gardens! The large seaside town of Bridlington is a short drive south from Flamborough and travelling north you have the resorts of Filey, Scarborough and Whitby. Yorkshire is famous for its stately homes and there are several within a short drive from the cottage. As well as Sewerby Hall there’s Sledmere House, Burton Constable, Burton Agnes Hall and the majestic Castle Howard. Hull, the UK city of culture for 2017 is less than an hour away by car and the same for York. Beach 650 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
Can't make your mind up - isolated country cottage or coastal holiday? Yorkshire is many peoples first choice. You will find cottages that welcome dogs in Harrogate, Thirsk or Flamborough - some have fishing nearby.
