Extra Amenities

There is a local farm shop and café on-site as well as a very popular petting area for the children to meet the animals. The cottages were renovated from the farms old outbuildings and barns to provide six holiday cottages all named after breeds of horses. If you want a large grassed area for the children to play on, there’s a shared 1-acre field to the front of the properties along with a playground for the children. The cottages are a perfect base to visit the east coast, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds as well as the many market towns that Yorkshire is famous for.

Sewerby Hall and gardens are just around the corner; a beautiful Georgian mansion house that overlooks the sea and down the coast towards Bridlington. Here you can catch a small land train to Bridlington and enjoy the walk back along the clifftops. Burton Agnes Hall and Sledmere, equally stunning stately homes, are just a short drive from the cottages. Bridlington is a very popular seaside town with two large beaches and a bustling harbour. Along the coast you have Flamborough, Filey and Scarborough to the north, and to the south Hornsea and Hull, the UK City of Culture 2017.

The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is well worth a visit. Here you can see thousands of different species of sea birds perched on the cliff top viewing points. The puffins attract visitors from worldwide. Beach 1 mile. Shop on-site, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
