Walking enthusiasts will delight in this cosy cottage located on the Trans-Pennine Trail, with walks and cycle routes direct from your door. Many local footpaths allow walking access to local villages, with excellent cafes.

Bedroom: With kingsize bed and en-suite with shower cubicle and toilet.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included, addiitonal logs available at £5 per basket. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Small courtyard garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Bike store. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: There are 2 steps in the garden.

3 Healey Cottage is a wonderfully appointed semi-detached, charming, comfortable and warm cottage with a superb feature wood burner perfect for cosy winter evenings. Set directly on the Trans-Pennine Trail, next door to the owner’s home, on the fringes of the small Yorkshire village of Shelley. The location is peaceful with ample walking and cycling available direct from the door. Your pet is welcome too, with dog bed and bowls provided and a local dog friendly pub available within walking distance.


Being on the edge of the Pennines and the Peak District National Park, the location is also perfect for visiting the Yorkshire Dales, with the convenience of local town amenities of both Huddersfield and Holmfirth just 20 minutes away. Attractions in the area include the nationally renowned Yorkshire Sculpture Park, the Hepworth Gallery, Cannon Hall and the National Coal Mining Museum, which can all be reached in around 20 minutes. In 30 minutes you can be at Wentworth Castleor the Colne Valley Museum and in 40 minutes the National Trust Nostell Priory, or the Royal Armouries in Leeds.

The city of Leeds has become a major shopping destination in recent years, while Meadowhall Shopping Centre with its abundance of shops and eateries is also just 40 minutes, with the bright lights of Manchester and York just over an hour away. Locally there are three excellent restaurants within a 5 minute drive, together with several pubs. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
