Often referred to as ’the gateway to the Dales’, Leyburn offers many quaint shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants, a chocolatier and a weekly farmers market, all within walking distance of Clarksville. The perfect destination for walkers and cyclists, Leyburn and the surrounding areas are best explored by foot or bike. There are many established walks, public footpaths and cycle paths that lead from the town right through to the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Passing through many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, guests will be in awe of the scenery, views and landscape of the area. The famous Aysgarth Falls are nearby and really must be seen up close in order to experience the waterfall in all its glory.
A short drive away but equally breathtaking, is Hardraw Force which is home to England’s highest unbroken waterfall. Perfect for families of all ages and at any time of year, guests at Clarksville must take the opportunity to travel along the Wensleydale Railway, which is a unique way of exploring the area and seeing the sights.

It travels between Leeming Bar and the pretty village of Redmire, where guests can then walk to Bolton Castle or hop on the Vintage Bus to Hawes and Garsdale station.
Adventure-loving families can also visit the nearby Forbidden Corner attraction in Coverdale, where guests can follow a trail of follies and go underground, or overground, for a super family adventure full of twists and turns.
