The bustling market town of Leyburn is just 4 miles, where you will find a selection of individual country shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants, together with the largest auction house in England. For those interested in history and architecture, Middleham Castle, Bolton Castle and Jervaulx Abbey are all less than 10 miles away. For family fun, book tickets for the Forbidden Corner (a 4-acre garden with follies, statues and labyrinths), which is a treat for all ages. York, with its abundance of shops, medieval streets, historic monuments and minster, is just 1¼ hours’ drive. Beach 46 miles. Shop 150 yards, pub/restaurant 100 yards.
