This charming little property offers the perfect retreat for 2 guests, amidst picturesque surroundings. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park this character cottage is tucked away in the small hamlet of Newbiggin, which sits on the hillside 10-15 minutes’ walk across the fields to Askrigg, or just a short car journey away. A pretty stream runs through the hamlet, and at the centre of the hamlet is the ‘pound’, or green, from which the cottage takes its name. There are far-reaching views to Ellerkin to the north, and Addlebrough to the south.
Nearby Askrigg with its church and market cross became a popular tourist location after it was used for filming the series ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. In Askrigg you will find a small shop for essentials and three pubs serving food. From Askrigg you can walk and see Mill Gill and Whitfield Gill, two of the waterfalls of Wensleydale. Guests are well placed for walking or cycling direct from the door, and there is no need to get the car out! Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
Spoilt for choice - rural cottage or family beach holiday house? Yorkshire is UK at its best. You will see last minute dog friendly short breaks in South Yorkshire, Yorkshire Dales or Pennines - some have hot tubs.
