Nestled on the edge of the quaint village of Middleton, just outside the beautiful market town of Pickering, lies Meadow View Cottage. This charming, semi-detached cottage has been furnished to a very high standard, and each room has character with flashes of colours, layers of sumptuous throws and cushions, as well as canvases and ornaments. This gives the interior a unique personality - country charm with a modern twist.
On entering the cottage, you have the kitchen with a dining table, traditionally the heart of every home. This is a well-equipped and welcoming space where you can enjoy home cooked family meals using fresh local ingredients. Whilst on holiday you can enjoy life at a slower pace, really relishing the time together. Next is the living room, with deep inviting sofas, ideal to sink into after a busy day of exploring. Upstairs isthe master bedroom with a beautiful four poster double bed, plus a second well-appointed double bedroom.
The bathroom is fresh and modern with a shower over the bath.
Middleton boasts a popular village pub, which is pet friendly and serves great home cooked food in front of a roaring fire, and there is also a lovely little tearoom. Both are less than a 10-minute stroll away. Pickering is a wonderful base for exploring the North York Moors and the nearby coastline. It is a pretty market town, with the popular market taking place every Monday. A steam train winds its way from Pickering over the rolling heather, through valleys and over hills to many picturesque villages all the way to Whitby and is ideal for a special day out; in December it becomes a themed Christmas Santa Special. One of the highlights on the calendar in Pickering is the annualWar Weekend, where battle re-enactments take place and live music can be enjoyed, and when the town seems to slip back in time.
The surrounding North York Moors is a haven for walkers with many trails to explore and an abundance of wildlife. Dalby Forest has a choice of trails for cyclists as well as walkers, whilst thrill seekers have the Go Ape zip lines through the treetops. Nearby is Malton, the food capital of Yorkshire, with a market, award-winning restaurants, and a cookery school. Castle Howard is one of Britain’s finest stately homes, sure to fill you with awe. There are also the beaches at Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington nearby to explore. Flamingo Lland theme park and zoo is a real treat for children, less than 10 minutes away. Beach 19 miles.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 10 guests.
