Within a small radius there are a selection of very good restaurants and pubs. A haven for walkers, cyclists and sports enthusiasts, the famous Coast to Coast Cycle Route runs past the door and is popular with guests of all ages. Nearby, visit Ellerton Lake a fresh water, spring fed 60-acre lake, enjoy a tranquil walk-in beautiful countryside or for the more energetic it is exclusively open for open water swimming, diving, paddle boarding, canoeing, and dinghy sailing.

Getting out and about, there’s an abundance of things to do. For an entertaining day at the races, Catterick Racecourse is just over 2 miles away. A 15 min drive will take you to the bustling market town of Richmond, full of history and great architecture, the cobbled streets of Richmond offer top quality restaurants, bistros, coffee shops, art galleries and a small cinema. There is a farmer’s market which takes place on a Saturday in the cobbled market square.

Within easy reach you will find many historic houses and National Trust properties which really are worth a visit, as is the fantastic Yorkshire Dales National Park, which is within easy driving distance.
The property is in the perfect location to enjoy the surrounding area and visit one of the many pretty Yorkshire towns and villages. including Thirsk, Ripon, Yarm, Northallerton and Leyburn. There is even the opportunity to visit one of the golden Yorkshire beaches at the seaside towns of Saltburn-by-the-Sea and Whitby.
