The village of Rosedale Abbey attracts visitors all year round. Its history is fascinating as it used to be a busy industrial area with most of the houses being owned by the miners, now it’s a perfect holiday retreat in one of the most stunning areas of Yorkshire.
This fantastic location really is a walkers dream with fantastic trails right on the doorstep. As well as the fantastic walking opportunities, Rosedale Abbey was one of the villages that the ’Tour de Yorkshire’ bike race came through attracting international visitors. The cycling routes that are literally on the doorstep take you through the wonderful Yorkshire countryside, which form part of the North York Moors National Park. Dalby Forest is a short drive away or for those who enjoy cycling, its a great bike ride to a fantastic mountain bike and cycling forest full of trails from the easy ones for beginners to the very challenging runs used in the World Cup mountain biking championship.

The seaside resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey are just a short drive away, and are a destination for a day out at the beach.
