There’s also a separate lounge where you can unwind in the evening. The family bathroom is located on the ground floor and includes a shower over the bath. Upstairs are two inviting bedrooms. The double bedroom enjoys spectacular sea views — imagine watching the sunrise over the horizon from the comfort of your bed. The second is a versatile family bedroom with both a double and single bed, perfect for families or friends travelling together.
The Cleveland Way coastal trail runs past the hamlet, connecting you to some of Yorkshire’s most iconic coastal gems — from the smuggler’s haven of Robin Hood’s Bay to the vibrant seaside town of Whitby and the Victorian charm of Saltburn.

Inland, the North York Moors National Park invites exploration with its rolling purple heather in late summer, ancient abbey ruins, steam railways, and dramatic landscapes. Nearby attractions include the Captain Cook & Staithes Heritage Centre, Runswick Bay’s fossil-filled shoreline, and the Saltburn Cliff Tramway — one of the oldest water-powered funiculars still in operation. Whether you’re seeking peaceful walks, seaside adventures, or a touch of history, Old Port Cottage is your gateway to it all.
