The property is located just off one of the many shopping streets in Whitby, down a quieter residential road, ensuring that even in the height of summer that you are in a peaceful location. This ground floor apartment is accessed via two stone steps and has just one step in the hallway. Boasting a spacious modern open-plan living and dining room with a quality finish making you feel right at home, after a day of exploring you can get cosy on the sofas and catch up on your favourite TV shows, or open a bottle of wine over dinner while reminiscing about the day’s events. The well equipped kitchen is perfect for rustling up delicious home cooked meals. One of the perks of self catering cottages is that you are never restricted to breakfast times – you can indulge in a long lie-in before starting the day with a full English! The bungalow is located a few hundred yards from beautiful views of the sea and Whitby Abbey, and only a few minutes from the fabulous beach, where families can enjoy a relaxing day sunbathing, playing a variety of beach games and even learning to surf!.
Whitby is a very popular resort with lots of wonderful events and festivals throughout the year such as the bi-annual Goth Weekender, Folk Festival, Regatta and many different music events. With everything that’s going on there is still plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy the two miles of golden sands, and some amazing scenery all along the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast. With stunning views, hidden coves and bays to explore, there is something for everyone. Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes are just two examples of picture perfect seaside villages in the area, with links to the explorer Captain Cook. The Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track are both fantastic walking routes that can be joined in Whitby, or head inland to the North York Moors National Park where there are thousands of miles of walking routes.
While exploring you’ll find the 199 steps that lead up to Whitby Abbey and the church of St Mary’s, which were made famous by the novel ’Dracula’. Whitby has a golden sandy beach as well as a marina where you can charter your own boat or join a trip out to sea to do a spot of whale watching. The traditional seaside resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington are just down the coast and the medieval walled city of York, with its viking centre and bustling back streets, is a short drive away. There are also attractions such as Flamingoland, Eden Camp, Lightwater Valley and the Sea Life Centre all within easy driving distance. Beach 500 yards. Shop 170 yards. Pub and restaurant 350 yards.
