Tidal Retreat is a contemporary, first floor apartment situated in a superb location, just a short walk away from the bustling heart of Whitby on the Yorkshire Heritage Coast. The communal grounds surrounding the property have some lovely areas to enjoy the stunning views over the River Esk. The contemporary interior has been decorated to a very good standard with a good sized open plan living/kitchen area, and Tidal Retreat even boasts a private parking space. It is a haven for walkers and cyclists, and many walks can be accessed from your doorstep, including a riverside walk along the River Esk and a lovely coastal walk along the disused railway line between Whitby and Scarborough, via Robin Hoods Bay, known as the Cinder Track. Whitby has so much to offer all year round and is a very popular place to visit with its regular festivals and events such as the Whitby Regatta and the bi-annual Goth Weekend.
There is a large selection of pubs, quaint antique and gift shops and famous fish and chip shops. The local tour bus is an excellent way of visiting some of Whitby’s highlights including the stunning abbey and St Mary’s Church, positioned on the cliff top where you can enjoy spectacular views over Whitby and out to sea. There are many pretty resorts dotted along the coast including Sandsend, Runswick Bay, Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay which are great for exploring our maritime history including Captain James Cook, smugglers and pirates.
Tidal Retreat is also the perfect base for exploring the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Travel by steam train into the heart of ’Heartbeat’ country, or take a fishing trip out to sea on one of the many boat trips that leave the harbour. The Cleveland Way snakes along the coast and is a must for those who enjoy the great outdoors. Falling Foss Waterfall, Roseberry Topping and Sutton Bank are just some of the natural beauty attractions in the area, whilst the medieval walled city of York is just an hour’s drive or train ride away with its National Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre or just exploring the medieval cobbled shopping area. Beach 400 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yard
