Extra Amenities

With parts of the property dating back to the 1600s, Lode Hall provides the perfect place for families and friends who are looking for a well presented base that not only provides tons of character, but also has all the mod cons. Having been in the same family for nearly 100 years, this detached property has provided a much loved family home for several generations of the owner’s family, and from the minute you drive over the little bridge that leads to the hall, you will know you have made a great choice for your holiday. Most windows boast bespoke wooden shutters, and the property has been carefully decorated and furnished to provide a warm welcome for guests. With three sitting rooms and a formal dining room on the ground floor, all with wooden floors and open fires, there is lots of space in which to relax and unwind.

The property also boasts five bathrooms, plus an additional toilet and a self-contained flat with a kitchenette and further sitting room on the second floor. For that added touch of comfort, adult bathrobes are available to hire on request from the owner. Outside, there is a private seating area, a large lawned garden and a hot tub that seats six guests, so you may find it hard to tear yourself away and explore the area.

Those who do want to explore the area really will be spoilt for choice, with the cities of Cambridge, Ely, Kings Lynn and Norwich all within easy reach. The university city of Cambridge has so much to offer including the famous Fitzwilliam Museum, along with lots of guided tours of the colleges and universities and punting trips on the river Cam.

Close to Cambridge also lies the Imperial War Museum, while Duxford is well worth a day out too. Ely, with its imposing cathedral, named ’The Ship of the Fens’, is a bustling small city that also boasts a stained glass museum and Oliver Cromwell’s House. The Hanseatic port of old Kings Lynn is a popular destination too, as is the medieval city of Norwich with its fine Norman castle. Those wishing for quieter pursuits will enjoy the Welney Wetland Centre; within an hour beach lovers can be on the Norfolk coast, and history lovers can be at the Sandringham Estate. After a busy day you can either retire to the peaceful garden or stoke up the fire, and relax and unwind while planning your next adventure. Beach 35 miles. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 4 miles
