Famous cider brands started in the county and is still made locally. Hereford is the county town and the Wye runs through its centre. It is a lovely market town and has a glorious Cathedral, home to the famous Mappi Mundi.
If you have a car - or you hire one and want to plan some good walks, head towards Brecon Beacons and Pen Y Fan, and walk The Sugarloaf, the Blorenge and the Skirrid close to Abergavenny, a wonderful market town. For a fuller days walking, follow Offa's Dyke from Pandy to Hay.
