Self-catering holiday houses in Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire is in the centre of the 'Heart of England', East of Gloucestershire, West of Berks and Bucks and North of Wiltshire and Hampshire. The M40 motorway runs through the county to Warwickshire. A great place to base a visit in middle England, it's easy to hop on a train to lots of places, but the difficulty will be that you may want to stay still! Oxfordshire has so much happening, but its easy proximity to central hubs means its a superb location for a get together in a large holiday house - many have swimming pools and tennis courts too. For couples, city apartments and converted stables or self contained cottages are perfect weekend retreats. The Chiltern Hills to the south are beautiful chalky escarpments with lovely vistas across the county. Further west is the North Wessex Downs. Didcot, Wantage, Witney, Carterton, Bicester and Banbury are the main conurbations set amongst some rolling green countryside and pretty villages. Henley on Thames is a famous sporting arena as well as a picturesque town! The Thames in Oxfordshire has many more lovely village to explore, some smaller quaint self-catering holiday houses. Blenheim Palace is a must see when in the area – one of the great Country Houses of England.
