Pantiles Cottage is set in the small village of Belford, just a short drive to the stunning beaches of the fabulous Heritage Coastline, close to Budle Bay and Bamburgh, and equally close to the stunning countryside of Northumberland, being within easy reach of the Northumberland National Park Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage sleeps up to four guests and offers a cosy open fire for those chilly evenings in watching TV. To the rear is a lovely garden with beautiful views overlooking countryside from the raised lawn area.

Belford is a central location for your holiday. The village has a proud community spirit with three friendly pubs and a few bespoke shops and coffee shops, as well as a very handy supermarket.

The Belford Museum often has exhibitions, and the local farm shop at the southern end of of the village offers a good choice of organic produce, coffee and ales, and includes an on-site café. Take a walk to St Cuthbert’s Cave only a few miles from Belford where the Lindisfarne (Holy Island) monks are said to have carried St Cuthberts body in AD875 following a Viking raid on Holy Island.

Budle Bay, only 3 miles, is home to thousands of wading birds on the tidal lagoon, a beautiful sight looking over to Holy Island. A local bus takes you to the popular coastal village of Bamburgh, with its castle overlooking both the village and the stunning beach (frequently featured in magazines, it is a real photographers’ delight), and the harbour town of Seahouses, which offers boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands as well as a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Whether you choose the coast or the countryside, Pantiles Cottage is perfectly located for easy access and makes a cosy welcoming base to return to after a day of exploring this super friendly county, reputedly the friendliest in England. A short drive takes you to Berwick-upon-Tweed, just on the Northumberland border with Scotland, a historic walled town where you can catch a train to Edinburgh and explore the Scottish capital. Travel around the Border towns and discover somewhere different every day if you wish.
