Allium is a charming stone built single storey cottage snuggled in the friendly hamlet of Tynely just a few miles inland from the seaside village of Beadnell. This delightful property sits at the end of a small terrace of three others and simply oozes charm. Following a full makeover, the property is now furnished to a very high standard throughout. The accommodation is conveniently on one level with only one step leading from the contemporary and sleek kitchen and fresh bathroom up to the living/dining room and both bedrooms.
A wood burning stove in the lounge makes Allium a cosy choice regardless of the season and a French door enhances the bright and airy ambience, and where three steps lead onto a large patio and spacious garden. There are magnificent views from the kitchen overlooking farm fields and the sea. There are many beautiful walks and bike rides which can be taken directly from the property. No need to use your car, just don your boots and explore!
Only five miles towards the coast is the well known holiday destination of Beadnell, which offers local facilities including a village shop and family friendly pubs serving good food.
Beadnell Bay is a glorious stretch of golden sandy beach and can truly be described as the jewel in Northumberland’s seaside crown; idyllic for a romantic barefoot stroll in the sand to listen to the waves lap against the shoreline and inhale the invigorating sea air
It’s also popular for watersports enthusiasts, try sailing, sea kayaking, wind surfing and scuba diving. A small sandy bay speckled with rocky outcrops leads to a long sandy beach which stretches two miles to the traditional fishing port of Seahouses where boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands, famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony, depart regularly from its harbour. Seahouses offers several charming tea rooms, amusements and shops with horse riding; fishing and golf on the links close by being only a sample of the many amenities available in this popular location.
A further three miles up the coastline is the picturesque village of Bamburgh, which lies snuggled in the shadow of its majestic fortress and commands the power and presence of the seasoned television set it regularly becomes. Holy Island – the birthplace of Christianity and site of Lindisfarne Castle, can be seen from the unspoilt golden, sandy beach. The bustling market town of Alnwick, with its own dramatic castle (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Academy!) is only seven miles south west of Allium.
Visitors will enjoy a trip to Alnwick Garden, a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden including the Grand Cascade waterfall and restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe!
Allium is an excellent choice for those seeking a well presented coastal retreat to rest and refresh with easy access to one of the most glorious beaches in Northumberland, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
