With easy access to a great road network, ensuring that exploring around the counties of Northumberland and Durham are all within day trip distance. An ideal location to enjoy some rural peace and quiet but also an easy drive to the famous Metro Centre, 7 miles away, and Newcastle-upon-Tyne, with the regenerated quayside and great selection of pubs, shops and eateries.

Set in an ideal touring location, situated at the gateway to Northumberland where a diverse landscape of coast and countryside await. The Northumberland International Dark Sky National Park isn’t too far away and you can be at the coast in around 40 minutes. Beamish Living Museum is a popular attraction taking you back in time and is a great experience for adults and children, only 8 miles from the cottage. The historic city of Durham with its fine cathedral and river ambience is only half an hour away. There are a few golf courses nearby should you wish tobring your golf clubs.
Hadrian’s Wall is a short drive away, where you can explore some of the museums and the infamous wall that Emperor Hadrian built in Roman times, a fascinating heritage site.
The cottage is perfect for some peace and quiet for a short break in all seasons or for a week’s holiday to explore the many delights around the area. Northumberland, voted the best county to holiday in the 2018 British Tourism awards, has something for everyone and you are assured a warm “Geordie” welcome wherever you venture on your holiday.
