This beautiful detached house is set in mature gardens and lies just 2 miles from Ambleside, making it an ideal escape to explore the South Lakes. Situated on the lower slopes of Loughrigg Fell, this picturesque holiday cottage is ideal for couples and families looking for a spacious retreat who want to be close to the action. The ground floor is bright and spacious thanks to the large windows and open plan feel. The living/dining room has a cosy wood burner and is an ideal space for relaxing in front of the Smart TV. The kitchen is well-equipped and you’ll also find a large utility room with a washer/dryer. Also on the ground floor there is a bathroom with bath and shower cubicle, along with a spacious twin room with quality furnishings.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed, the other with twin beds, and there is a shower room too. To the rear of the property is a lovely patio with garden furniture and stunning views - this area is a real suntrap.
If you like walking or cycling there are some lovely routes around Loughrigg Tarn, Todd Cragg and Elterwater. Or, if you like more of a challenge, you can try the Langdale Pikes and the Fairfield Horseshoe. Locally there is a pub and hotel which provides great food and locally produced ales.
For lake lovers, you are only 2½ miles from Lake Windermere with the famous steamers offering pleasure trips to Bowness and lakeside on a regular timetable. For the big kids in the family, you’re not too far from Go Ape at Grizedale Forest, a high rope adventure course for thrillseekers. The towns of Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere are all easily accessible and offer an abundance of restaurants, shops and bars. For a great base and a great property, book Sheilings before someone else beats you to it! Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
