It has everything you need to make a hearty meal to enjoy around the dining table. A small step up leads to the living room with wood burner, comfy sofas and large screen TV to enjoy a movie together. The property dates back to the 1700s and is over 3 levels with short flights of stairs in between. For a good nights sleep the master bedroom has a kingsize bed, beams, comfortable seating, TV and a large arched window providing an attractive view of Thackthwaite hamlet and the path up Lowfell and Fellbarrow.
The second bedroom has twin beds that can be converted to a double, traditional beams and sandstone windowsills typical of a cottage of this age. The windows look out to Whiteside and Grasmoor fells which would tempt any walker to enjoy the stunning views from the summit. Wake up feeling refreshed and make your way to the family bathroom where you can refresh ready to start a day of exploring.
Outside you can enjoy a morning coffee from your private patio, or enjoy a glass of something cold as you catch the last of the day’s sunlight. The owner is happy for you and your family to enjoy the 6 acres of gardens comprising many beautiful trees and shrubs, a woodland walk, orchard, a large lawned area to play on or enjoy the stunning views, a pond, summer house and a sheep paddock that leads down to the beck.
Nearby are Loweswater and Crummock Water which have gentle shoreline paths for all to enjoy. Nearby villages such as Loweswater and Lorton are home to traditional Lakeland pubs serving home cooked meals and real ales. The popular market towns of Cockermouth and Keswick are both within a 20-minute drive, each offering an abundance of cafés, restaurants, shops and supermarkets.
