Dewhurst House is a luxury pad perfect for spending time with the people you love. Built by the owner himself, this impressive house stands proudly amongst a backdrop of gorgeous greenery with views across the Ribble Valley toward Longridge Fell. The kitchen/dining room is the real heart of this home with a gorgeous island in the centre, and a dining table where everyone can convene after a busy day exploring and tuck into a delicious meal. The glass windows to the back of the kitchen overlook the garden, and the sliding doors open up to a private patio which has comfortable seating perfect for soaking up the sun with a glass of wine. There is also a spacious living room with a grand fireplace, where guests can enjoy cosying up on the sofas and admiring the gorgeous views, or why not chill out in the snug watching one of your favourite movies. The front patio is the place to be come rain or shine, relax in the hot tub and immerse yourself in the bubbles, as well as the magnificent views of the Ribble Valley and beyond – you may even catch a glimpse of the local wildlife grazing in the wild flower meadow just in front.
This exquisite country retreat is ideally located in the Ribble Valley, close to the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
This wonderful area offers an array of activities including walks over the fells through endless green fields with a wide variety of friendly local pubs dotted along the way. The winding country lanes take you through the Ribble Valley, Trough of Bowland and out toward the Fylde Coast, making this a mecca for cyclists and walkers of all abilities. Other country pursuits such as horse-riding, fishing, dry slope skiing and even clay pigeon shooting are all available locally. You can even hire a hot air balloon and enjoy the stunning scenery from high up above!
For some relaxation, why not treat yourself to a sumptuous seven course tasting menu at the nearby Michelin star restaurant, or indulge in a spa which is close by. The market town of Clitheroe is 6½ miles away, with a great selection of independent shops, cocktail bars, restaurants and cafés. It also has an impressive beer hall which features one of the UK’s longest bars and is home to the local Bowland Brewery.
The picturesque village of Whalley is also close by, with some gorgeous wine bars and boutique shopping, plus a beautiful abbey to walk around.
Pendle Hill, historically renowned as being the home of the the Lancashire Witches, is just 7 miles away with some wonderful walking taking you through the surrounding villages, past reservoirs and on to the top of the hill where you can see for miles across the valley and towards the Yorkshire Dales, Fylde Coast and Trough of Bowland. Hurst Green is a great day out where you can stroll through the impressive grounds of Stoneyhurst College who taught the likes of Arthur Conan Doyle, the author of Sherlock Holmes. You can also follow the Tolkien Trail, which is said to have inspired the ’Lord of The Rings’ novels. Dewhust House is also perfectly located for guests attending weddings at many of the beautiful neighbouring venues. The rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales, the Fylde Coast and the Lake District National Park can all be reached under an hour, or simply stay in and enjoy this one of a kind, magnificent holiday home
