Henley Bridge Holiday Cottage
2 bedrooms, sleeps 4

A peaceful, rural, converted dairy set in the tranquil surroundings of the owner’s 17-acre grounds.

Escape to the countryside and immerse yourself in the rural peace and tranquillity surrounding this converted dairy, with its own private enclosed garden and welcoming inglenook fireplace. It is situated within 17 acres of the owner’s grounds where they keep, train and breed working dogs. Located on the 1066 Country Walk from Rye to Pevensey, the cottage is just a stroll away from a delightful pub which serves delicious food. There are many places of interest within a short drive including Battle Abbey Gatehouse (English Heritage) and the battlefield where King Harold and William, Duke of Normandy, fought for the future of England; find out if you could carry a Norman shield into battle.

Visit the beautiful grounds at NT Bateman’s and see where Rudyard Kipling wrote his fascinating stories. Spend a day at Bewl Water, trout fishing (£20 for 2 fish, licence required), cycling or simply enjoying the boats. The hands on Science Centre at Herstmonceux, the Blue Reef Aquarium at Hastings and a selection of local vineyards producing award-winning wines to sample, should be on your list to visit.

Good rail connections from the station at Battle, 6 miles away to London for further sightseeing opportunities in the capital. Beaches at Pevensey and Bexhill, 10 miles, Hastings and Eastbourne slightly further afield - 15 miles. Stabling by arrangement with the owner. Beach 9½ miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
