This 200-year-old thatched barn is situated in the pretty village of Brighstone. Brixton Barn was a former National Trust office that has been converted to a delightful holiday home. This outstanding accommodation is a spacious retreat for a couple to relax. In the grounds is the owners Grade II listed thatched cottage which adds even more character to this delightful setting. 1½ miles will bring you to the stunning Heritage Coast, with beaches, coves and walking routes, including The Tennyson Trail, named after the famous poet who once resided on the island Chessell Pottery, 3 miles, is a working pottery and paint studio where you can make a memento to take home with you.

Calbourne Water Mill, 4 miles, is a fascinating day out; it is the only working water mill on the Isle of Wight which also features a small war museum, rural exhibits and a café.

The Needles, 7 miles, is home to the famous rock formation, and offers a chairlift down to Alum Bay, as well as glass making demonstrations and much more. The island can be explored from the open-top buses that stop regularly at various collection points. Outdoor pursuits include walking, cycling, riding, sailing and fishing. Beach 3½ miles.
