Sandy beaches at Hayling Island and The Witterings are all about a 20-minute drive away. Whilst to the north lies the rich and varied countryside of the South Downs National Park, with its many miles of bridle and footpaths, rural villages, and traditional country pubs to discover. A 10-minute drive to the east is the elegant cathedral town of Chichester, which has a Roman villa, popular theatre, cinema complex, leisure centre with indoor pool, and a host of restaurants, inns and shops. Bosham and Emsworth, both great for sailing are less than 10 minutes away. There is also a train station less than a mile away with direct links to London, Brighton, Littlehampton and Portsmouth.

The Goodwood Estate in the heart of West Sussex, famed for its motor racing, golfing and horse racing and home to the world-famous Festival of Speed is also nearby, as is the open-air Weald and Downland Museum and next door to that are West Dean Gardens. Historic Arundel is within easy reach, with a castle and Wildfowl and Wetlands Park. Alternatively, to the west, you will find the nautical city of Portsmouth with Spinnaker Tower, Gunwharf Quays with its designer outlets and waterside dining, plus the historic dockyard where you can take a tour around the HMS Victory and the Mary Rose Museum.
